Shopify packing slip template: make it useful at the packing bench
A packing slip is an operational checklist. The person picking the order should be able to identify the shipment, recipient, items and quantities without reading financial detail.
Generate a packing slip now
Select “Packing slip” in the free tool. Prices, tax and totals are omitted from that document type, while the order and fulfilment details remain visible.

- Order number and order date.
- Ship-to name and complete delivery address.
- Product description, SKU and quantity for each line.
- A short fulfilment or handling note when staff need it.
- Page numbers on every sheet of a long order.
Fields usually left out
A packing slip normally does not need unit prices, discounts, tax or the amount paid. Removing those columns gives long descriptions room to wrap and avoids exposing commercial values when a package is handled by a third party. If your workflow requires prices, use an invoice or receipt instead of silently changing the meaning of the packing slip.
Test the difficult order, not the easy one
Before adopting a template, render an order with 25 or more lines, long titles, accented names and a multi-line address. Confirm that rows do not overlap, no header is stranded at the bottom of a page, and the footer stays inside the page margin. A two-page content document should print as two sheets—not two content pages plus two footer-only pages.
Partial fulfilment needs a deliberate rule
Decide whether the slip lists ordered quantity or the quantity in the current shipment. If you ship in stages, the warehouse needs a consistent signal for what belongs in this parcel. Do not assume that an invoice-oriented template automatically handles fulfilment quantities correctly.
Moving beyond one-off printing
Saved templates and bulk generation help when a warehouse processes the same layout daily. When comparing apps, check whether billing follows total store orders or only the documents staff actually generate.
